Hyperopia or farsightedness, is a refractive disorder in which distant objects are seen more clearly than near objects. This occurs when the eyeball is short or the cornea has insufficient curvature & thus light focuses behind the retina rather than directly on it. People with Hyperopia have difficulty reading, writing or working with electronic devices for long hours. It affects people of any age but is commonly detected during childhood or adulthood as the eyes become inflexible. Fortunately, hyperopia can be treated with glasses, contact lenses or newer refractive surgeries such as LASIK.
